Royals activate Meche, Fields from 60-day DL

09/01/2010 - Kansas City, MO (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The Kansas City Royals have activated pitcher Gil Meche and infielder Josh Fields from the 60-day disabled list.
The Royals also recalled catcher Lucas May from Triple-A Omaha.
To make room on the 40-man roster, the Royals transferred pitcher Luke Hochevar and outfielder David DeJesus to the 60-day DL.
The 31-year-old Meche has missed 86 games with right shoulder bursitis. He was 0-4 with a 6.66 earned run average in nine starts prior to landing on the DL in late May. Meche will work out of the bullpen.
Fields, 27, has been sidelined all season while recovering from hip surgery.
